Most of the time I use my fingers to detangle my hair after waking up from sleeping/getting out of the shower. I would use a wide-toothed comb, but only once a day at max. Maybe zero times a day. I used to pull too hard when detangling by using a brush carelessly several times a day... even when my hair was wet. Whoops! Even though I’ve been getting regular trims, I should’ve known better... when I was growing it out and the first 2.5 years I let it settle at it’s current length. When I got a little bit too much for my liking trimmed off at the end of last Summer, I thought “uh-oh... guess that’s a sign that I really should take better care of it...”
