I have also noticed this. Especially when I go the VA hospital. I was recently admitted and there was an older guy with long hair in my area.
But what I find sad is when I ask guys why they don't grow their hair out. Most of the time their answer is something like "I don't like how it starts to curl after a while". Or they tell me that their hair just gets "poofy" at some point and they don't like it. I try to tell them that once the hair gets long enough it will usually weigh itself down and look great. Of course, this may not hold true with very curly hair. But what I like is when I see a long haired boy. This tells me that his parents are open minded and tolerant. Please take care of yourself!
