The "boy suspended for long hair by Texas school" headline has been a periodic news feature over the last decades and as Texas I've always found it shameful. However, I'm now realizing it's a good thing. When I was going to Texas schools and boys were bullied by school officials over hair length it was so common there were never any news stories. Now Texas' backwardness and bigotry makes the national news. The bullying is getting harder to hide.
And I hope they win that lawsuit. One good win like that might just about end it (or make the discrimination more difficult, anyway).
