: : HI,
: : I've had long hair for about 2 years now. In the past month or so, It has become knotted and the knot is getting bigger.
: : Is my only recourse to cut it off? If so, I'm going to have to cut the rest of it too as it's going to look bad to have long hair on my sides but not in the back, where the knot is.
: : I'd be curious to hear if there's any other recourse. Thanks.
: : Pic hopefully attached.
: : Cheers,
: : John
: Buy a good conditioner for hair. Wet your hair and put a lot of conditioner on the knot. Let it soak in for several minutes. Then use your fingers to gently work the knot out.
I had long hair teased and styled into a french knot for my brother's wedding. And this is exactly the remedy my hair dresser gave for undoing it. This is how women always undid teased hair styles. The conditioner makes the hair very slippery, if you use one containing silicone, that's even better.
