Here is a video of a guy who had a wonderful and healthy mane, then getting it lopped off on national T.V.
The most disturbing part of video, IMO, starting at 1m05s of the video. A bar gives a bottle of tasty booze if the guy gets his man bun chopped off.
There's something not right about that, I think. Publicly displaying chopped hair on a wall for all to see. Reminds me of a public beheading or something like that.
On a positive note, the Youtube comments favored the long mane.
Here is the link, if interested:
Rachel Ray and her emasculating male makeovers. She can't cook or do anything. Just another version of the same BS chat show host.
I hate videos like this. He looked better with the hair long.
This is in regards to a bar in Brooklyn:

IMHO there is no amount of booze on the planet to get me to
cut my hair.
How about having a contest to get people to get rid of that awful buzz cut/crew cut/etc,.?
I'd donate to the prize pool for that! Buzz/crew/razor cuts are UGLEEEE.
Really hate those makeUNDER shows that make you look worse. Rachel Ray isn't the only one. 'Today Show' picks random folk for their makeovers, and every time it's a male, and he has long hair, they chop it all off (and somehow make it acceptable by donating the chopped of ponytail to a charity like 'Locks of Love').
A lot of the women with really long hair end up with a lot less too. They chop it off above the shoulders, add layers, and remark how chic and carefree it is, and the stupid drones in the audience cheer, just like they do for the guys getting their long hair hacked off.
I'm happily a non-conformist for the societal norms imposed on the masses and agreed upon by the drones. I always compliment a guy I encounter, who has long hair, because I know they don't always get the respect they should from family, friends, co-workers. At least they know they have support from somewhere.
I absolutely hate these make over shows. Every time I see one
or hear about one I take it as a major incentive to keep my long hair long until the day I die.
At 62 years old I love having long hair no matter what others think. Even with it being all grey.
I was at the gym this morning for my daily work out and I just
loved the idea of my hair cascading down my back and/or over my arms and shoulders. There is no way to enjoy that with a crew cut or buzz cut.
"Call me a relic, call me what you will
Say I'm old-fashioned, say I'm over the hill"
One other thing I would mention the guys that go on these shows have already decided to go for hair cut. Personally if I were on the show and it were suggested i'd be out the door faster than
you can say makeover.
This type of nonsense can ruin one's appetite.
Hi Joe,
To be honest I couldn't even bring myself to watch such a video being it's counterproductive and depressing to even think about. I've known of such makeover shows and they always involve chopping off long hair on guys that are involved. Why they would participate in such a thing is beyond me other than to think they want to get their 15 minutes of fame or whatever :( Cheers

I always find it amazing that the females who usually want to have a guy's long hair cut off usually have long hair too. I think the proper response to comments like, "cut it off" is "Cut yours first to the length you want me to cut mine and we will see how that looks first." and to the one who has short hair that (like the over-controling father in this video) wants the hair to be cut, "Grow your hair this long first, and we will talk about how you like it or not and then we will see about cutting it." That should at least buy more time for the person with the long hair to keep it (in a family situation).
The other point here is that Kyan, who seems to be a hypocrite as he has longer hair himself, cuts the guy's hair shorter than his own. No one on the show says that Kyan should get his hair cut. Also to point out, Kyan has a full beard. He is playing up his masculinity while advocating for de-masculinizing another man by dictating his hair length and looks. Kyan is playing into the whole "4 legs good 2 legs better" thinking from George Orwell's "Animal Farm". Kyan is a tool for the establishment.
