She used a lot of absorbent cotton bath sheets to remove as much moisture as possible, and only used a hair dryer if she had to go somewhere where damp/wet hair wouldn't do. Otherwise, it air-dried. Because of the process, she would go 3-4 days between washing. Crystal Gayle is now 66 years old, & has had that famous hair for over 45 of those years, right up to the present day.
