Hey peeps. I have came to talk about the issues of having long, curly hair and of course being a man with curly, long hair. You see, I am currently a blond and for some reason curly blond hair looks messy, while on darker haired people, curls look nice. The main problem with my hair is I can't brush it without it becoming unbelievably frizzy. I wanted to see how many other guys experience this as well and if you have any tips on how to control curly hair.
I have thick long curly hair. One, let it get Really long, that helps it weigh down and look its best. two, I use WEN cleansing conditioner and never shampoo which dries and leads to frizzy look. Three, I use coconut oil-quite a bit of it- when very wet, more on the ends.Don't worry that your hair will feel a little oily , it evaporates in a day, and then you can remoisten your hair and add more at the ends. Scrunch the oil in, maybe use a very wide pick to get any tangles out, but fingers are best. Then let dry. I NEVER brush my hair when dry, because it damages it and it just makes it frizzy by separating all the wavy hairs. Just finger comb, if you must, but I tend to just leave it be once it air dries. I have defined curls with lots of shine, and get lots of compliments. The less you fuss about with your hair once it begins to dry the better. Just enjoy it!
First thing, you should never, ever try to brush a curly hair. Not only damages your hair, but gets frizzy and untamable. Just it with a large teeth comb it and you'll be fine.
Curly hair takes even more time to achieve the length you want because it tricks you not showing its real length, only when you pull it down you can see it.
Early years of grown can be very messy, gets unruled and doesn't look nice but when it start reaching 2 or more years it can look very nice, just be patient and you'll get there.
Take care!
