Hi myelin,
Welcome to the board! Now get that hair growing! I look for ward to your updates! Don't wait any longer! Please take care of yourself! Oh, and please post a starting picture if you're so inclined.
Ted
Good time to start. Happy 2018 and 6" of long hair! :-)
Justin~
Oh Justin! So nice to see you come out of the woodwork! You must know I still watch your old Youtube videos when your hair was so long! You are a master at making videos! I just cut my hair again last month. Had about 2 years growth. Needless to say, it's growing out again! I'm not going to cut it short again! But I plan on growing it long enough to donate some and still have mid-back hair length.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you! Please take care!
Ted
Hey Ted
Thank you so much for the kind words and I wish for you the best Christmas ever this year. Whew.......it just seems so long ago that I made those videos. Time goes by all too fast. I wouldn't really worry about the fact that you cut your hair. Actually in many ways it is fun to grow it out and along the journey see so many "one of a kind styles." Mid back length was my favorite of all, but I was growing longer out of curiosity to see what my Terminal length would be. Oh well, guess I will never know. You wouldn't believe, I am having fun right now with of all things: A Bowl cut! LOL Thanks again Ted.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Thanks for the very nice reply! Yes, I am definitely enjoying the different styles I can make at the different lengths. But I will most likely maintain my hair at mid-back length from now on. It seems like a good length. I may let it grow longer to see terminal length. It definitely requires much patience! I'm just kind of glad my hair isn't curly! Even though I really like curly hair better the way it looks long.
And yes, you take care of yourself! Have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
Your friend forever, Ted
Hi Ted, I am in exactly the same boat as you man, a week ago after growing my hair out for TWO long years I decided I wanted a change and off it all came, immediately regretted the decision and hated my new SPIKEY look, will never happen again (im 52!). Felt almost sick driving home from the hairdressers! The worst thing is that once the deed is done you can do nothing about it other than start the whole process again! Will not make the same mistake again! Being positive though its a great time of the year to start again. Happy new year to all!
Hi El Nico,
I apologize for the delayed reply to your message! Well, I am 51 now. Yes, I also regretted my haircut. The worst part for me was the fact I PAID someone to chop my hair off! And now I'm looking at my hair in the mirror all the time wondering when it will look decent again. But then again, it is fun going through the different styles all over again. Might as well have fun with it along the journey. My hair is finally showing some length again. I can't wait to get to the 2 year mark again!
We have to remain positive and start fresh! Happy New Year to you and I look forward to your updates! I don't know when I will post my first update.
Ted
Hi Ted, I am just the same, I keep looking in the mirror, thinking what the f*** have I done! Your positivity about going through all the styles again is a good way of looking at it, time goes fast, we will get there again! I think my first positive update will be at the end of April, 4 months in (say 2inches of growth), things should be progressing by then, annoyingly I went very short at Xmas! For the LAST time! All the best Ted. Nick (UK)

Hi El Nico,
Here is a picture of me before my cut. The stylist wanted to put it on her Facebook page. The photo in my avatar is quite old. I will have to update it again when I get some growth.
Just seen it. A big difference but im shorter :-(
1 on top and shaved up the sides. Christ sake!
Well, that's okay! You just get more time to enjoy the journey! Enjoy it! But please don't make the mistake again!
This has been a harsh lesson. But youre right, need to focus on the journey and just enjoy the ride. Putting a hair mask on in a bit in the vain hope that it will help move things along. Ridiculous I know :-)
Ha ha! I have been praying to the hair gods in hopes of getting some action over here! But every time I do, I here a faint "Why did you cut it in the first place?". I just tell them that I'm sorry and it will never happen again! Do what you can my friend! Just imagine when you can look in the mirror and see that wonderful mane falling across your shoulders! But until then, check out the below website for more daily inspiration. Enjoy!
Daily longhair growing inspiration
Thanks Ted!
No problem! Also, I would also recommend that you look through the user's directory of the MLHH for more inspiration. There are some great photos in there as well. But the main thing is, keep the focus! We shall prevail!
Wow, there is a lot of hair in there! Might get myself on the directory too (pre-haircut)!
Yes, very inspirational I must say!
Out of interest Ted what made you cut it? I still cant quite believe im Right back to square one!
Alpecin (caffeine based) shampoo I am led to believe is great for fast hair growth, just tried it out :-)
You know, I really can't give you a good answer on that one! But I will tell you that I was thinking if I cut it short it would make my gray hair come out faster. I had read somewhere that if your hair starts graying, it will gray faster if you keep cutting it short. I guess this is because the hair grows gray from the follicle.
I know it sounds crazy! But I'm not going to cut it again! Just going to let it grow and do it's own thing. Being patient is the hardest part though! I still think my hair would look badass if it was all silver.
Well, I hope you don't stay at square one for long!
How about a pic after the cut too!
