There was a pub I used to go in years ago, and there used to be a conservatively dressed guy called John whose girlfriend was clearly a guy. None of our crowd ever spoke to them, and we all commented that the girlfriend had a five o'clock shadow. That was a long time ago and we were unenlightened. I'd hope if it happened today we would behave a lot nicer.
