: : Hi LHIA,
: : I'm just curious why you don't let it grow to your knees again. You must have really good hair genes.

: I was lot younger then. Now that i'm 63 the hair doesn't grow quit as long now. Not sure why but it is what it is.

: Now that i'm 63 the length seems to be at nipple length. Anything longer seems to be especially susceptable to damage no matter how careful I am. The past several years i've ended up chopping off about 6-8 inches to clean up the ends. This year I skipped doing that but ends look like crap so i'm debating with myself as to whether I should leave the hair the way it is or to clean up the ends.
: I'm wondering if I need to bite the bullet and admit that my hair should only be nipple length? I hate having the hair that short but I also hate the ends that look like crap.

: I'm also wondering if i'm wearing my hair down too much now. Maybe I need to wear it in a pony tail/pig tail/braid/bun more often?
: One thing i'm absolutely sure about, I won't be cutting it any shorter than nipple length.

: As we get older does our hair lose it's strength? Does it become more brittle?

Hi LHIA,
Thanks for the reply! That's a bummer your hair won't grow that long anymore. I would just grow it as long as it will grow with nice thick ends. That's my plan for my hair. But I think wearing it down a lot does cause the ends to get ratty. And I also think that hair loses its elasticity when the strands turn gray and lose the color pigment.

But your hair looks good in your avatar photo. Its great to know you're steadfast in your decision about not cutting. Onward and downward!
