Those that have grown your hair long do you trim the ends? I am talking about split and damage ends.
I do, yes, because I like the ends to be all one length, as if cut straight across. An occasional trim (key word here is "occasional") keeps the random growth and damage due to splits to a minimum.
In the past several years i've trimmed off about 6-8 inches to clean the ends. This year I skipped doing that. I've also started wearing my hair in a pony tail more often to eliminate damage.

I have my hair trimmed every 6 months by about 1/2 inch. It keeps the ends clean and healthy, encouraging growth. I was able to grow my hair from above the shoulder to below waist in 6 years....so my strategy works!
Look at my December post for pics.

Your hair grows from the ends? Mine grows from the roots.
Real smart ass....You obviously never had long hair...
For the record, its down to my butt. I can sit on it if I'm not careful.
As I am sure you know, hair grows from the roots. Trimming keeps the ends free of splits and damage so it isn't constantly breaking off and losing length. The "it grows faster with regular trims" is a myth invented by the salon industry.
Do you have pic to share? I know you are a big fan of blunt one length trims. Love to see it at that length
