Hi everyone,
I made a short video again for the 7 Year and 2 Months mark. The hair is great and I'm still growing it. The lower 30cm look very thin. I will work on that for the future!
I have been trimming the ends towards all at the same length and I am happy with the result, I already like that the V-shape is gone.
I will also try the following
- avoid unnecessary brushing
- use more protective hairstyles
Keep it growing, I hope you are well!

Amazing! Can't wait till my hair is reaches that length :-)
It looks like oodles of fun.
Go for it!! Your hair looks amazing already. I think you can grow it long :)
Hi Phillip,
Do you trim your hair yourself or do you have a stylist? Looks like you could definitely grow it longer if you desire.
Darrin
Hi Darrin,
I never went to a stylist. I thought about getting a professional trim done (after 4 years) but I didn't do it. At my length it is very easy to trim it myself. I will just keep it growing as long as I like it.
Take care!
Philip
Hi Philip,
Your hair is looking good. I dont think I could trim my own hair and get it even. It must be difficult to trim the back center section. You seem able to trim that section. Keep growing!
Take Care,
Darrin
Check this out. Many use Feyes tutorial.

Hi Darrin,
thank you! Trimming it is actually not so difficult. I trimmed it like this:
- make a middle part, comb everything through
- make a low ponytail, comb it again
- put another hair tie around the middle of the ponytail
- make it really tight, slide it down until it's a few cm (1 to 2 inches) away from the ends, make it tighter if necessary. It shouldn't move or allow hair to move when it is close to your ends.
- now bring the tied hair to the front without pulling
- comb with a fine tooth comb
- press the hair flat and cut off the ends.
If you don't dare to do it, you can try it out by cutting just 5mm (1/5 of an inch) off, it's not noticeable.
This is the easiest method I know and it works for me.
I hope this helps!
Hi Philip,
I always enjoy your videos! I am wanting to get my hair as long as yours hopefully. But it takes patience! I also am trying to get all one length because I think it looks better. Thanks for the inspiration to keep growing and I like how you are smiling! Please keep us updated on your progress! And please take care of your self!
Ted
Hi Ted,
thank you for your feedback! I trimmed my hair a lot last winter, so the V-shape would become more even. It is a U-shape now and I like how it looks a lot better at this length.
Thanks again! Take care :)
Philip
Hi Philip,
Yes, I like the ends even or a soft u shape. The sharp v is funny looking to me. I am wondering how often you wash your hair. I am washing my hair about every 1 to 2 days. I think when it gets longer it will be less often. I can't wait to get my hair as long as yours!
Ted
It looks great dude! Congrats, you did a great job growing it out :) You're an inspiration to me and so many others and I hope I'll get to where you are someday! Keep growing <3

Hi Avi! Thanks for your compliments! I do what I can to grow it long. :) Haha inspiration? thank you! I hope you can grow it easily as long as you want.
You are well on your way to Hairfreaky status (Check out his youtube vids). Seriously!
As for your ends, it's called fairytale ends. It's the result of individual hairs of different lengths. If you want more even, thicker ends, you could just snip off a half-inch every 4 to 6 months, from the longest bottom hairs. You said you have been trimming it. Eventually, the shorter hairs will catch up, and the ends will look thicker & fuller. At that point you can just s&d for split ends, or do a dusting ( snip 1/4 in or less), as needed.
You could also snip off several inches to thicken it sooner, but I wouldn't do that. I know some replied to your vid & suggested that, but then you end up with much shorter hair with blunt ends. If you look at Hairfreaky's vids, you'll notice he has natural ends without the fairytale wisps. You get that with judicious trimming, which maintains the length. Natural ends are uneven, but full. So keep doing the light trimming, hair looks great nonetheless.
Congrats on sticking with it 7 years +, takes a lot of discipline to achieve that.
Hi Carol,
thank you for your long reply and explanations! Yeah, I know of hairfreaky. He has really nice pictures on his facebook page. He used be here too didn't he? His hair is absolutely stunning and beautiful. It is past floor length and I'm far from that! :D
Thanks for your trimming tips! I think I can and should trim less often. I trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks last year. Then this summer, I didn't trim for 4 months and it was still alright to comb through ect.
Thanks again for your nice comment and advice!
