: I've had facial hair since I was 16 but started shaving the sides a year ago as there were just too many premature graying hairs. 2 months ago I tried dying my beard with Grizzly Mountain Beard Dye which is an organic plant based dye that has henna and indigo. I got the light brown as my hair is a graying dirty blonde but after messing with the set time to get the dye lighter I now have it as light as possible using a 10 minute set and I have gold. The beard looks good, but it just doesn't blend or match my hair. The manufacturers say it is good for the hair as well but wouldn't take as long.

: So, if I try to dye my hair is it possible this non-chemical plant based dye is going to damage my hair? Back in May it was so damaged that I looked like I was going bald in the back but not so much now as it is slowly recovering with the help of oils. I attached a picture so you can see the color differences between my beard and hair.

Hi Marty,
As a person who couldn't grow a beard to save my life, I can't really help here. But hopefully Hairball Mark will chime in here since he uses henna on his hair and beard. His comes out really nice looking. Maybe he will see this post and give us his tips. Your hair and beard are looking great here! I probably wouldn't worry about it. But I guess I can understand the difference in color. Please take care of yourself!

Stay close, Ted
