: Hi there, Ted.

: My hair hasn’t reall ever gotten very long by this group‘s standards. My original post pic is about an inch shorter than I’ve ever had enough patience to grow it to. I had trimmed the back early on, so it wasn’t much longer than the current back length. This time around I won’t be doing any trims until I hit shoulder length.

Hi DunderThome,
Well, everybody I have talked to with long hair has told me that it takes a lot of patience. The only time I would trim anything would be the ends. And only about 1/2 inch at the most. But I think you are wise to wait until you get to shoulder length. I am wanting to trim my ends, but am just hitting close to shoulder. I may do it so I can even up the ends in the back. The front part of my hair is almost chin length. The back is almost to shoulders.

I don't think it really looks that bad since people tell me it looks fine. But we always seem to think it looks funny or something. I may wait until I get to one and a half years to trim it. My goal is to have one length hair. In other words, absolutely no layers in it. I think long hair looks better with no layers. Of course, this might be different for curly hair. Just don't trim so much off that you don't make progress! Patience, patience, patience! Looking forward to your next update!
