I may decide to grow my hair longer. I just don’t know if I would wear it down often at a longer length.

You have such an incredible length from what I recall, I think that over time you'll find the balance when it comes to wearing it up/down (even if it means trimming it back to your desired length).

Go for it; go for terminal length.
As for the style with which you will wear your hair; try wearing it down. If you like it great. If you don't like it you can use a number of styles to tie it back. That's part of the beauty of having long hair.
