Hi, I have a question for all of you with long hair. I'm currently dedicated towards growing shoulder long hair, and it'll probably take me at least 2 years to grow it. My question is did any of you have the urge during the time it took you to grow your hair to just cut it short because of peer pressure/or maybe just the bad hair days?
If so how did you cope with it? What problems do I look forward to?
On occasion, but never because of peer pressure. Sometimes, you reach a point where you're tired of waiting for it to grow to the length you want it, and you want to cut it out of frustration and plain impatience. And, on occasion, there are those bad hair days where you just want to take a pair of scissors to it and get rid o it.
If you want long hair bad enough, you learn to deal with the bad times. Just ask yourself, "Is this really worth it?" If the answer's yes, then you either find a way to style what length you have in such a way that it doesn't bother you for the time being, or you grin and bear what style you can manage.
For me, there was a time when my hair was down to my chin and I could NOT get it to do what I wanted it to do, so I ended up combing it all back and putting so much hair spray on it to hold it that my hair felt like straw. I did that until my hair got to a length where it would hang the way I wanted it to without the ends wanting to flip up, and it took a year or two to get past that phase. The growing process has been nothing but smooth sailing ever since.
There are only two major drawbacks that I can think of that come with having long hair:
* Takes longer to wash
* Tangles
Take care, and good luck! :)
I disagree, but perhaps this is just a matter of semantics. For me, washing takes exactly the same amount of time whether the hair is long or short. This is because I only concentrate on the roots. Conditioning takes a hair longer, but this is not significant, since I let the conditioner set for a couple minutes anyway. What does take longer is rinsing and drying.

It is hard....but let me tell you it is worth it. You may have a bad hair day...so what? I made the decision to no longer cut my hair 4 years ago....and although it was hard not to...I did it. I get compliments on my waist length hair every day. As long as you take good care of it it will remain healthy and beautiful. I think every woman should allow their hair to grow to its full length. Its such an attractive thing. You go girl!!!
Hi, My name is Leah. I wanted to reply for the hair thing. I did have problems with my hair and I just wanted to cut it all off at once. It will get to you during the summer. I wore it in a bun. I t worked and when I wanted to do other activities, I just left it up. Even at night! Then during the winter, I was glad it was so long because it kept my neck warm. I started growing it in 7th grade and now, after one year, it is down to my the back of my back. I have a boyfriend and he loves long hair so I think you are making the right decision to let it grow. Also, if you brush it 150 times a day than it will grow much faster. And you MUST go to the barber to get your hair trimmed or she will just cut everything you have grown off of you!
{Tip: If you are a boy, you do not want to brush your "long" hair in school. I t will be so totally embarassing!!!}
If you want long hair just listen to these simple directions.
1. Eat the proper nutrition and have a healthy diet
2. Don't wear hair up or play with it a lot, just leave it go
natural
3. Make sure to use a lot of moisturizers and get shampoos with vitamins
The average person grows about one inch of hair every month.
Have patience and it will grow! Now, I am an expert with hair styles. The most popular look of today's female is about shoulder length, lightly layered at the bottom and curled under. This look is simple and is easy to deal with. But if you wish to have your hair longer then follow my simple guidelines. If you hardly ever die your hair or curl it or put it up then the results when your older will be worth while. If your hair is long and you want to chop it off then you might be regreting your decision. If your face has a round shape to it then you would want longer hair. If you have a very bony structure then your ideal hairstyle should be shorter and wider. Hope this helps a little
