Hi and Great Job!

Just wanted to say great job on the board, it's really looking good thanks to all the work that obviously went into this change. I miss the old format too it was very nostalgic the way it was. I was finding the old board wouldn't open in chrome any more,  hopefully this new format will breathe new life into things and get some new posters.

I've been hanging around since early 2000s, no longer obsessed with doing weekly updates like I used to since my hair has been growing this 3rd time for nearly 11 yrs.

Growth seemed to slow down once it got near belt length, seems to have been at around belt length for ages (my perception/impatience/self trims don't help!!). Shoulder length to midback seemed to take no time (couple of yrs) then to belt length a few more yrs. These new pics indeed indicate it's still growing, if somewhat thinner at the ends. Just wanting to see how much longer it will grow while I still can, I do feel lucky genetically that I can still have this much hair at my age, even if the top/front is not as thick as it used to be and getting quite a v shape at the temples. Can't complain all in all!

Here's a some recent pics I took. They seem huge lol,  it's a bit scary? and a bit blurry? Prob my poor camera skills and should have downscaled them sorry.

I haven't trimmed in over 2 yrs just to see how much longer it will get. I just washed it so the ponytail is super gigantic... When I go out it's normally in a bun but sometimes I like to wear a pony tail out which I normally get positive remarks over. If I wear it loose it tends to get quite annoying, stuck in car doors, constantly having to swish it out of the way, sit on it etc and gets all tangled, as well as sometimes scaring the  guys when I turn around and they realize I'm a big 50 something hairy guy and not whoever they thought they were looking at.. . anyway that's all part of the fun ha ha! Hope to see more posts soon from new and old!

Just some progress pictures with my recent hair growth.

It’s coming along nicely around 14 months of growth now, with last trim 10 months ago.

Almost everything can fit in a ponytail but I wear it loose 99% of the time. In the past it was the other way around wear a ponytail 99% of the time. Really enjoying my hair now.

Only thing I’m concerned about is my hairline is moving up and it get’s thinner at the edges. Hopefully I can enjoy longhair for a long time but I will have to see if my hair allows. For now it’s barely noticeable but is does concern me.

I thought the hair looked decent today

Happy weekend everyone,

Today, I’m doing something a bit different, a photo of my hair from the side, using the old “reflection in mirror” method.  I’m not good at taking back photos, but the side is the next best thing.

With more humidity in the air, my hair gets wavier, but also looks thicker, and possibly a bit shorter as well.  Even more humidity increases this effect still further but my hair never actually looks curly.  Because I cropped the edges of the image to get more hair and less filler, there are margins on each side.

Also, I’m happy to have maintained a decent amount of shine in my hair, despite my 73rd birthday being 2 months away.  Thank you, everyone, and have a great one!

Hi,

I spend this weekend at Orléans (France) for a meeting at the Aerotrain test track. Unfortunately the meeting was canceled on the last minute due to an severe heat wave. Temperature was 37°C / 99°F this evening.

These photos was shot now just after the sunset.

Sorry for my bad English pronunciation.

Me at the Bordeaux fun fair.

I like riding thrill rides, speed and high G force.

This fun fair called “Foire aux Plaisirs” that we could translate by “pleasure fair” fair stands twice per year on the Bordeaux main square “Place des Quinconces” in March and October. See it on street view.

This video was shot on March 2026.

Good day all,

Figured it was time to try my first post on the new mlhh so let’s see if it works. Taking advantage of a gorgeous day here in NJ as springtime takes hold over a long cold winter. Hopefully my photo shows otherwise I should be embarrassed as a crew member if I can’t even navigate  my own site. My hair appears to be still holding up as I approach mid 60s. I’d like to again personally thank Jesus Forain for his work to update the mlhh and all those posting to help kick off the upgrade. Cheers to all friends old and new here! Cheers.

Here are recent pictures of me on a good hair day, at Ste-Foy, suburb of Québec City. At 67 years, I feel my hair looks great.

Have a nice day.

Swamp Gypsy - this time for good!

Hi(gh)!

Finally I have lost enough weight to no longer hide a double (or even triple) chin behind my “talibeard”… so I made quick work of it and left only the mustache:

I hope to soon get some additional pictures showing me in my “natural environment” online here…

Ditching the long silvery beard was quite a relief - I got sick of the constant “Santa Claus!" comments in public! And I think this also signals a departure from my decades-long obsession with Afghanistan as a role model for personal aesthetics in appearance… my white pakol might well block oppressive summer sun, but I think a white (faux) leather durag, preferably with waist-long tail, will perform as well. Generally, “leather” is the keyword for my future style!

See you in my swamp!

Rogain

Does anyone have experience with Rogain?

After all these years of having long hair i've noticed some receeding hair line and balding spots.

I was looking at reviews of Rogain and one of the chief complaints is Rogain can lead to hair loss rather than hair gain.

I'm now 71 years old.

Long hair inspiration over the years

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd post some of my long hair inspiration over my lifetime.  I'm 54 now, so this goes back a little while :)

When I was 14 I was first inspired to grow my hair out by “Atreyu” from the movie the NeverEnding Story:

When I was a little older, 20s and 30s, my inspiration was David Gilmour from Pink Floyd:

Now that I am getting older, I still look for long hair role models, and one of my favorites now is Robert Plant who is 77:

Anyway just thought I'd share.  I'd love to see any of your long-hair inspirations.

Happy growing!
