Some of you may know John DeSalvo (also known as D'Salvo) who won the "Romantic Times" 1994 contest to be a model for romantic novels. he is on the cover of the current issue of the magazine "Romantic Times," with his hair cut short.
He had dark mid-back length hair, and was on the cover of many romance novels, in addition to having his own calendar. The magazine has a brief interview with him, where he states that in order to get into acting (he has a small part on a soap opera now), he needed short hair in order to be more "versatile." The article also notes that some of his fans are not pleased that he lopped off his long locks.
Here is a photo for those who do not know him. Sorry to hear he gave in to someone's narrowmindness regarding longhair on men, then again maybe the hair was not important to him.
