Nothing about to the opposite to the mullets: short back and on the sides but long front hair, forelocks, fringe, bangs?
You mean like the bully in the Calvin and Hobbs comic strip?
In the mid to late 80's and a little beyond I was into the bubble-gum teenybopper look. I had "grass" hair and once I had the natural color stripped out by the use of ammonia, leaving three different colors (frost, medium blond and red) applied to sets of strands that had been pulled through one of those bald caps, leaving my own natural color of brown underneath, and then shaved to 1/8th of an inch on one side of my head. BTW, I said "grass" hair because that's what it felt like if I happened to put gel or mousse into it, which I typically didn't do because I didn't like the way it felt. Anyway, the hair fell over my collar in back. It was a cool hairstyle, but it cost me over 60 bucks, I think, because it took three trips to the salon to get it all done. It happened by accident, though, because the first ammonia treatment didn't take enough color out. The second try did better, but not quite good enough. The third she really made it strong and I ended up with a frost to go along with it all. It looked nice, but only lasted about three months or so before it had all been cut out.
None of the hair that's on my head now has ever been touched by a styling gel or (gasp) hair spray. Only shampoo, conditioner and Biosilk therapy to keep it soft.
Is any long fringes lover here?
