I'm growing my hair for the first time and it's now reached the point where I keep having to brush it out of my eyes but it flops back down again soon. It's not yet long enough to tie back in a pony tail, but I can keep it back with a girlie hair slide. I have not yet ventured out yet with this, because I'm not sure how it looks on a man.
What do you reckon, should I put up with it wait for it to "pony" (my main aim) or try experimenting with a hair slide....?

Dear Alex: I'm not sure what you mean by "hair slides." If they're what we in the US call a barrette, then you might be right; the one's I've seen are meant, at least in part, to serve as adornment for a woman or (more often) a girl. I don't know why someone can't come up with a design that is suitable for a guy -- or at least neutral, but so far I've not seen any.
As for your problem, all of us have suffered through that at one time or another. My solution was to pin down the flyaways with three or four bobbie pins of a color that matched my hair as closely as possible. Not ideal, perhaps, but it was fairly unobtrusive and it did work.
. . . JP in san diego.
I did a lot of looking and found at Walmart a headband that I like.
It is plastic and only about 1/4 inch wide and can be rather inconspicuous.
It is made by Goody; the package is labeled Intrigue
and has a product number of 22633.
It comes in a package of four assorted colors, some dark.
I usually use the black one. It does not look feminine.
I have worn it in public many times.
