What kind of change are are looking for? Are you going to cut it short? Buzz it? You have nice hair. I'm a str8 male, but I'd like to pamper it for you and maybe even cut or buzz it off for you if you like. Where are you? If you are interested pls email me back.
Mike
Don't DO IT. My hair is as long as yours and it does not really take that long to dry. Get a real good fluffy towel. Towel dry first, wait just a few min. and blow dry the rest. The process is not really that long and is well worth the effort. Hang in there. Let us know what you do.
BOB, don't be silly. You may be tired of it now, but after you cut it you'll regret it.
One of the highlights of my journey to work was this bicycle repair man with thick, black, straight hair coming below his waist. Imagine my horror the other day when I saw him with a crew cut. He looked absolutely awful.
So keep at it, man!
About shoulder-blade to mid-back length. The longest hair are waist length when straightened.
Rudy,
Your message touches on something I have been thinking about lately. There are some longhairs that I regularly interact with, but I have never commented on their hair. One of them works in a bookshop/cafe that I go to at least once a week. He had curly hair to about his elbows, and cut it off on New Year's Eve for the new millennium! When I was there on 2 January, customers were congratulating him for his haircut. It was pretty sickening to observe. Do you think that in situations like this (where we don't really know the person), we should encourage a longhair before he goes to the barbershop? I asked a friend of mine who had very long hair and cut it short a few years ago (it's now back to shoulder-length). He said when he had long hair, the only remarks he heard were negative, but after he cut it, he was surprised by the number of people who told him that he should have kept his hair. Positive reinforcement might have had some effect on him. Any thoughts?
Absolutely. My own experience is that I really appreciate people who come and tell me they like my hair.
I think an appreciative comment, even to a stranger, can help in positive reinforcement. If you yourself have long hair this helps even more.
Bob, after washing your hair, do it into a single braid, and to
get it out of the way, make it into a coiled chignon at the
back of your head. Then you can go about your daily routines WHILE
the hair is air-drying on its own. Lots of time saved by not
waiting for the hair to dry. Just a suggestion, and that's how many
long-hairs did it in the 50's and before.
OM
