I just read an interesting job description and would like to share it with everyone here. It is a job for a computer game company in the UK. Please read the last line. It puts a lot of things into perspective.
We would like to hear from people who want to be part of a team. As a
pointer, here are some ideas of what qualities that Bizarre people tendto
have. Be warned, not all games companies are the same, so don't thinkyou'll
need the same things for other companies!THINGS WE LIKE TO SEE:
* Dedication to games, or at least the area in which you want tospecialise
* Enthusiasm; a real love for the work
* Commitment to both the product and the team
* Talent - this is far more important than qualifications
* The ability to see a project through to the end
* Knowing how to work under pressure, for long hours, as part of a
close-knit team (it's harder than you think!)
* That indefinable Bizarre Creations streak of insanity!* An honest CV
THINGS WE DON'T PARTICULARLY LOOK FOR:* Experience
* Qualifications in the relevant subject (they can help, but aren'tessential!)
* Hair length is immaterial, whatever anyone says!!
DAmn that is a very interesting job, at least it seems than no everybody is concerned about hair length at work, those damn 90's androids!
Bla bla must have short hair, we prefer Ricky Martin lenght....f234ucking dicks.
Well, that is all from me, hmm, might even apply....
Here's a bummer of a story. My company bought a new plant last year (food manufacturing). The employees who were employed there before the aquisition were never subjected to hair policies. Enter my stupid company. About 25 longhairs were forced to cut off their locks, and about 15 men were forced to shave their beards. None of them opted to find a new job, as most were only trained to do the job they were doing, and not in a position to be jobless.
I work in the corporate HQ, where thankfully no hair policy is in place *yet*. I feel really bad for my newly aquired co-workers who had to cut their hair, especially when I am at a plant for some reason. Many of them look at my hair and I'm sure feel cheated.
