Before everyone starts piling on about the "stereotype" of the long haired biker in "Erin Brockavich", I want to point out that George is one of the noblest characters in that movie, and he actually shattered the stereotype of the long haired biker and long haired guys in general. He is kind, stayed home with the kids, and he's a good man. Since this movie is so incredibly popular, I think George is going to go a long way toward raising people's opinions of long hairs.
You beat me to the punch. I agree with you 100%. Along those same lines, the movie also did something to make lawyers more palatable as well (at least those influenced by Erin -- I wonder if that was the point with George).
