I can relate to having the long bangs that LBOF and longtop talked about awhile back. The longest I have had mine is to just past my mouth. I am currently growing them out again (haven't cut them in 7 months). I keep the back and sides short.
Longtop talked about using gel to slick them back for life in the corporate world. I unfortunately also must deal with the corporate world and the company I work for doesn't appreciate long hair on men. So, I have to disguise it at work.
My question: I also use gel or strong mousse to slick it back and hide the length but when I do this it looks very shiny and hard. People have told me that I look like I am wearing a 'hair helmut'. Does anyone know of a gel that would have a strong hold but not look so shiny and hard looking?
I'm really serious this time about going for a new record length and I don't want my manager to make me cut it.
Thanks for your help.
American Crew grooming products for men has a styling aid called Fiber. It is a cream-colored paste which, worked into the hair until the creamy color is no longer apparent, provides the hold of a pomade but dries with a matte finish so it looks like no product has been used on the hair at all.
I think you should try the new loreal fresh styling water!! IT works good on me!! I have long bangs w/ short side and back also!!!
Gald to see that there are others who have the same hairstyle.. You could also use Gel when it is wet then blowdry. Then use some kind of hairspray that is not to sticky..
