Hey I want to grow my hair long and it takes forever but I dont know how when I should get my haircut how often I should get it trimmed how to keep it nice. I am 14 and I wanna grow it to my shoulders but I need to know how!!!
I don't know how long your hair is, but here's some help.
The only way it'll get long is by growing it :)
A trim is good. I'd say, get a trim every 3 months of so..or whenever your ends start looking nasty. Yes, it'll take awhile for it to get shoulder length. But be patient! Don't let " you need a haircut " or " your hair makes you look scruffy " keep ya down! Just do it, because when it gets where you want it, you can pat yourself on the back. It's too easy to hack off all your hair, just grow it =D
Yes, trims are good! This is why women look more stylish while growing their hair out. If you get shape-ups from a good stylist every once in a while, you'll be happier with your hair as it grows, because it will have shape and style...you are less likely to get that "I can't do anything with my hair so just hack it all off" feeling! Just don't do it very often, every 3 or 4 months is plenty. Yes, it takes a little longer to get to "longhair" status, but you'll feel better about yourself during the growing out phase. Believe me, I've grown it out and cut it off more times than I can count!

Just don't cut it, and nature will take its course! Be prepared to wait a year to get it to shoulder length, because that is how long it takes. During the middle of this time, your hair will be in the "awkward stage". This means you will have to use a gel or a bandanna to tie it down unless you want to have it look messy during this time. Then, as you hair gets longer, it will start to be much neater again. So grit your teeth, and DON'T CUT ANY because the awkward stage will last the least amount of time that way. You will emerge from the process as a longhair!
