I am new to the hyperboard...I have a question...how long would you consider hair (for men) to be before one is called a "longhair"? One gentlemen stated that hair had to be 9 inches long to be in that "category". I wonder how he reached that conclusion...any other ideas?
i'd say a person's starting to become a longhair when his hair is somewhere around shoulder length. he fully arrives when the entire mane (top, sides & back) can be tied back in a ponytail.
bear in mind- i'm NOT the last word on this; there are some whose opinions differ from mine.
Its hard to really say.To some, hair to the shoulders is considered long.Myself, when it was that length I still considered it short, and was quite frustrated. Now,my hair is just below my armpits and still,to me,I dont consider it really long.I wish I could have hair down to my belt, but alas,I dont think that will ever happen.I dont think tying it back in a ponytail is the standard to judge by,cause a guy with a mullet kinda misses that by a mile, yet the back may touch his belt. Its all a state of mind...if your hair is shoulder length, then compared to a marine, its long.To someone else,it may be considered longish, but ... you get the point.Whatever makes you smile, what ever satisfies what you determine long enough for you, thats all you need to worry about. We sometimes get caught up in how long we can grow our hair, yet to me,I'd rather have healthy hair to my shoulders, than long straggly thinned out hair to my lower back.( unless you happen to be one of the lucky ones who grows it thick and full to that length )
When your hair falls upon your shoulders. Not just barely touches them, but falls on them. That's when people will notice your hair is really long and begin to think of you as "a longhair".
Coolest is that moment that, for the first time, another longhair, one who is a stranger, refers to you as a longhair. That's when you'll know you've arrived!
