if i get a job and later they tell me to cut my hair , does the freedom of religion protect me? is this descrimination?
You might have a case if your religion specifically requires long hair- for instance, Sikhism, Rastafarianism, some Native American religions. Otherwise freedom of religion won't do you much good. And yes, it's discrimination, but a legal form of it.

if you land a job with your long hair, it's fairly unlikely that you'll catch any grief over it. if at your interview, you are asked to cut it before starting a new job you'll need to assess which is more important- your hair or the job. it is perfectly legal for an employer to require men to wear short hair.
Do you really want to work for people who are that narrow-minded?
