I finally have got a scanned photo of myself. It shows the long bangs that I must conceal at work. In this photo they are down. I can still maintain the corporate look once they are slicked back. Does anyone here manage to conceal longer bangs than this?
I couldn't upload the photo here (too many bytes). To view, follow this link: profiles.yahoo.com/stanleybey
Yahoo won't let people use their photos as part of off-site web pages, which is what is happening when you try to put a photo on a board like this. I saw the photo by typing in the yahoo profile address and then clicking on the photo. After that, it would appear in the messages here because it was in my browser cache. Upon reloading the page, though, the photo would disappear again.
Even though some web-sites would BREAK links to photos by changing them, this photo link seems to work for me.
If the HyperBoard doesn't load the photo properly in time, then InterNet Explorer will tell you with an icon with a big red X, while you Netscape people should see a broken icon! Just right-click (for multi-button mice) or hold-down (for the Mac users) the mouse button to open the image, and you might get the image into your cache.
After loading* into cache, of course!
Because the link has CHANGED!

I didn't see a picture on the yahoo profiles either???
It bothers men that you use the word "conceal"...does your "corporate" company really object to men having longer hair on the top of their heads or do you think they object to having someone with "unruly" hair? I have friends who have longer hair but it is cut short in the back...and they just keep it "combed". Seems you could grow it much longer (on top) and still keep it in control.
There is little difference between "control" and "conceal". By combing bangs back they are in control and thus concealed. My hair is kept short on the sides and back so with my bangs combed back my hair is in control.
The problem is that as hair gets longer it gets harder to control, especially in that in-between stage until one can have a ponytail.
As I get further into this stage it gets harder to control/conceal my hair. Believe me, it's not that I'm ashamed of my hair, I just don't want to lose my job over it.
I stand corrected, conceal/control...a matter of semantics. You didn't mention if your "company" has a policy concerning hair-length on men. I agree that as your hair grows longer, the in-between phase will be a problem...will you be able to have a ponytail where you are working now? I hope you opt for longer hair...
Here are a few pointers on limiting file size to fit within the size limit. I took your image on Yahoo, saved, it, and then edited it in Paintshop Pro as follows:
* Rotated the image
* Cropped the image (your original picture is mostly empty white space.
Then I saved the image to a file that is only 24K (vs. the 186K of the original). The size of the actual image in the picture is the same. I did no resizing. Finally, I uploaded the resulting image to the public folder here.
You can also adjust the quality or compression used to save the image. Be careful doing this though. Increasing the compression is done at the expense of image quality. For pictures of hair, it is nice to be able to see the strands when possible. This is not possible with highly compressed images.
