Can anyone suggest a stylist in or anywhere near San Diego? I've been growing my hair about a year and a half with nothing cut or trimmed and I'm thinking about getting "neatened up" a bit but don't want to shorten it. My hair is about 2" below my collar bone in front--not bad for an old guy, I guess.
I want to keep growing it longer, but just a bit neater. I don't know how long I want it yet but I figure I'll know when it gets there.
After a lifetime of short hair I'm really enjoying it and like the feel of it on my back and shoulders
I'd like to find a stylist I won't regret going to--one who likes long hair on men and who knows what he or she is doing--and won't take off too much. I live in south county but have wheels, will go where necessary for the right person. Thanks for any and all help. DH in SD
I suggest you contact JayPee who resides in San Diego and whose e-mail address is on this message board...he has provided great advice for longhairs and proabably could help you find a good stylist.
DH,
Try Jennifer at the Hillcrest Barber's Salon, 3778 4th Ave in Hillcrest. The shop is just south of Robinson and on the west side of the street. Set up an appointment with her by calling (619) 298-3899.
Jennifer has been my stylist for many years now and has tended to my mane since throughout my growing it out. She was actually the one who shaved my head back in February of 98 and has helped me keep things neatly trimmed as I grew it out. She definitely knows her stuff and is no stranger to longhair on men. If you give her a shot, let her know where the reference came from.
Also, if you have any other questions about her or the Salon, then drop me a line.
Good luck and tell Jennifer I said hi!
