It makes me cry when the mullet is insulted. I, personally, sport this hairstyle proudly and defiantly. I see you all snickering, and I am saddened by it. :_(
don't allow yourself to be bothered by others' attitudes. not all of us are snickering at this style- i sported it until 4 years ago when i decided to just grow it all out. remember, people make fun of things like hairstyles to mask their own insecurities. don't be bothered by their ingnorance and continue to sport whatever style you want with pride and defiance.
Yes, I like that hair style!
I'm sorry but people hate mullets because they just look bad. Furthermore they give people reason to lump all long-haired men into one group of undesirables.
My suggestion would be leave your hair long in back until the top grows out. Then gradually cut the back until everything matches. Your long hair then would be awesome!!
Ed,
What other people think of your hair is none of your business.
You have the freedom to be your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way.
You might have noticed it's probably the men making snide comments
about your hair and the ladies who reach out and touch it....
Hey Ed, get that mop on your back cut off, you freak
I think you should wear your hair how ever you want. However, styles change and most people's taste do with it. Mullets, at this time, are very unpopular and those who choose to wear one are out-dated and look like white trash to most of society.
You should expect to be ridiculed for wearing a hairstyle that looks dated and ugly. However, in twenty years, the mullet may be high fashion! I have a sneaking suspicion those who have a mullet now, will be sporting short hair with a bumper-bang in 20 years.
It's a free country-if you want to look like a freak---go ahead!
I too am saddened by the mullet. I always think, 'Wow, wouldn't he/she look great if only the hair was long all over!

Your hair is your hair and you should wear it the way you want to and not the way everybody else wants to. If we wear it the way everybody else wore it this board would not exist.

Why are so many of you so insulting. I imagine you are used to people looking at your long, uncut, uneven, rated hair the same way. Now how do you feel? get over yourselves and stop being stuk on your own style. Remember we are all allowed to be ourselves, or would you preferr clones?
At my high school, we have several "groups" who are identified by the way they dress...one of these are called "cowboys" and almost all of them sport a mullet. As with the other groups, they are accepted and the mullet is just part of their appearance. Oh yes, we also have "longhairs" although they don't seem to belong to their own group. A lot of the guys with long hair range from the "jocks" to the academic types...so, like the girls, we guys have various hair styles and everybody "fits in"...and yes, I am a "longhair!
I am impressed by the quantity of judmental responses you had concerning your mullet.
Isn't that board dedicated to the cause of the liberty for each to have hairs as long as we want despite all the pressure that it's causing from certain people. Aren't we condemning the pre-judgments of the other?
So why judge Ed's choice?
Every one has the right to have their own taste and if we want to be accepted as we are, maybe we should first start by accepting the others...

Cus they look bloody terrible thats why.
wear it for all it is worth! i sported one too years ago, loved it then, and love it still. some look really good with it, others should maybe consider growing it out a bit. although i have since grown the top out, not to where it is all one length though, because on me, hair the same length looks really bad. (i know, i tried it!) mine looks better with a few layers.
although i guess, some would say anything other than "all the ame length" is a mullet, i find that far from true. billy ray cyrus, that was a mullet! and whether or not it was a good style or a bad style, i imagine is up for debate.
