Hi guys -
My hair is currently shoulder-blade length in back and short in front
from the back of the ears forward. I have just decided to let my hair
in front grow long to match the hair in back. (Then I might let it
all grow even longer! I think waistlength hair would be totally
cool.)
I know it's more practicle to cut one's bangs short so one's hair
doesn'e keep falling in one's face (I *MUCH* prefer to have my hair
loose and free to drape around and caress my shoulders, especially
when shirtless), but I also find the idea of having *all* my hair one length *very* appealing: long and natural.
Any comments?

Hi Paul,
here's my tuppennyworth:
Mine is just like that at the moment, too.
If you let the bangs (I presume this means 'fringe" in UK-speak, I've never been quite clear on this point) grow, you will have to go through having to put up with getting your front hair mixed up with your curries and dangling in your soup, until it is long enough to flick behind your ears or tie back while you are eating. I speak from experience here!
Hairgrips can help at feeding time, or you can try a quick burst of hairspray in the morning to try to keep your hair off your face. That works quite well so long as the weather is not too windy.
I eventually grew my hair until it was the same length all round and half way down my back. Mostly I kept it in a pony-tail during the day for work, but I used to let it free in the evenings.
After a couple of years, I felt like a change and went back (via a longish page-boy cut) to a shoulder length bob and fringe, which I find easier to manage and just a sensual.
Hope this is of help. Go for whatever you want - experiment and have fun! Let us know how you get on.
Cheers,
Steve
Hi!
Bangs = the hair on the front of your head (forehead) that typically
gets chopped just above one's eyebrows.
I know, but the promise of long hair will be worth it!
Is "hairgrip" UK-speak for "bobby-pin" in USA-speak?
Yes, thanks!
Will do!

Hi,
I have been through this phase some 8 years ago, soon after I came to Denmark from Romania and was finally able to let my hair grow as long as I wanted it (down to the waist, took about 3 years to grow it at that lenght).
It's actually a few months time, until you grow it long enough. After that you will have problems when eating a hot dog or a hamburger amidst 40 mph wind gusts (quite frequent here in Denmark) :-)

First, fringe does = bangs; and hairgrips, I suspect, are more in the line of barrettes than bobby pins.
You can, if you decide to tie it up during the day, use a very stiff hair spray on the sides only, and "glue" the shorter hair into the longer hair on the side. There are some good quality sprays out there that won't damage your hair.
Now that sounds just fine, Nick.
Try facing into the wind; blows your hair out of your face. Works pretty well... as long as there is no flying sand or grit.
Let it grow. One length, in my opinion, looks much better. If it's going to be long, let it be long.
My hair started out being just long in the back with bangs. I decided
to start growing out the bangs in 1992-1993. Most of the women that I
know say that they like my hair a lot better when it is all one length.
If you are going to grow it, then grow it all one length it seems to
be the style of the nineties!
