I've started wearing my pony tails up high. This is a change from just wearing it lazy and low. It is liberating, and i feel more free.
Has anybody out there started wearing theirs high, because they got sick of the same old look. Now i get a lot of looks, and more girls. Of course some look like i'm weird, but i am. So what ya think.
hey - high ponytails are for chicks.
wear it low.
dale
Some say long hair is for chicks.
Wear your ponytail any way you want.

**** in some peoples cases, their hair doesnt quite fit in a "low"
ponytail, yet they still want to tie it back. I say do exactly as you see fit....who knows...you may just start the trend LOL...
Hey if you think that high ponytails are for chicks then in my opinion you are saying long hair is for chicks and all of us long hairs should have brush cuts and join the Marien Corps. Its not a masculine feminine thing its a people thing and the way a person wears his/her hair is an individual thing. When we separate masculine/feminine in this way we are being rigid and reinforcing societal rules. I think having an open mind is what is needed here.
wear it high. lot's of guys do. it has nothing to do with femininity. I like wearing mine high because i like to feel it swing around.
I think it's a good style for the clothing styles which go with it.
Think of the distinctive dress of the toreador/matador. Envision also
a high, curly pony tail. Same thing with a modified 18th-century
look: eg. britches, open-neck shirt. Think of the shoes which might
go with it. It's the overall appearance which matters.

High pony tails are pretty sweet, I do the same thing sometimes, however buns and braids are my favorite. Try braiding a high ponytail and then rap it into a high bun. but remember don't wear your ponytails too high because then it just looks stupid. Also try wearing you hair half up and half down with a high ponytail that is always good
This is a funny issue because it's a minor distinction, seemingly, yet it makes a big diff. in appearance and, judging from some of the posts here, in people's minds. When I was in high school the high ponytail (above the ears) was not just for "chicks only," it was for cheerleaders only. My girlfriend, being a cheerleader, wore hers that way a lot but always tied mine back low. Now it seems styles have shifted so that I see middle-aged businesswomen in suits wearing their hair way up -- And men as well. At my wife's insistence I usually wear mine high as well these days, with no part, usually with a scrunchie but sometimes, for a more femme look, with a ribbon. When I wear it a low I part it , pull it back loosely and fasten with a barrette. A totally different look.
Obviously the only answer is "whatever makes you comfortable."
Did anyone notice that tennis player Patrick Rafter from Australia who defeated Andre Agassi at Wimbledon has been wearing a high ponytail in his matches? There is certainly nothing feminine about him. It suits him, and he wears it well. Like others have said, wear whatever suits you.
Take a look.
