I curl my long hair every morning with a curling iron. I do this for
control. It just gives the hair a little body and some big curl at the ends that looks nice. Do any other guys do this. My wife got me started when my hair was getting long and pretty unruly. Now, I do it everyday. Curling Iron is a 3/4" style.
Hate to think that I am the only guy that does this.
you're not alone bob.
i also curl my shoulder length hair. i do not use a curling iron. i prefer rollers since i think they produce a stronger curl.
last nite my wife rolled my hair in pincurls. we have found that the produce a nice curl and are easy to sleep in if the hair is rolled behind the ears ( i sleep on my side).i'll take them down before our holiday guests arrive for dinner.
they say the grass is always greener on the other side. you'll read many posts here where someone is trying to straighten their hair. if you want to meet more guys into curling their hair try this:

Hi Bob,
I do not curl my hair - it is naturally curly - but how nice to hear from someone actually choosing to have curly hair instead of all the "how do I straighten it?" posts!
Oh Lordy....I say each to their own...But ummm.....some people here went off over tying a pony tail high...this will push em over the edge hehehehe....
I really do not use the curling iron for the curl so much as to give the hair a little body make is smooth! The end result is that it is uniform across the ends instead of going different directions. My wife likes it looking neat instead of unruly. I never wear a low pony tail, but rather a mid pony tail right behind my ears. My hair is not quite long enough to reach all the way into a low ponytail.
I work in IT and there are a lot of us with long hair and ponytails.

I think you are right, if its kept kinda short, keep it even. The longer it gets, the better the unruly kinda curls.
Wish we all had that kinda work setting - Enjoy the freedom!
Curlers have definitely become decidely more common for men. Two guys that I know of in my health club are typically in curlers every monday morning when I see them working out. They use the Sauna(s) actually to set them. But if they're in a hurry or they can't sauna, they'll set their curls under the chair hair driers. Then, if they're office bound they work with the attendant and carefully remove them before changing in the locker room.
Is this a couple, or are you describing two different, unpaired guys?
As I sit here typing this message, my head has a mass of ringlets all over. I look like an old Shirley Temple. I had never had a my hair set in rollers, but after reading Toms message, my wife thought we should try it, so she bought a whole bunch of little green sponge rollers and put them in my hair last night. They were not very comfortable. This morning after testing one of them, she said they were still a little damp so she used a blow drying for a while and then waiting a half an hour. As she started to remove them, she started to giggle. She thinks it is cute. After she removed them all, I got to look in the mirror. I had no idea it would be that curly. I grabbed a brush and she stopped me. She said she liked the look and I should wear my hair that way today. I am not leaving the house today. It tell you that it does feel strange. My hair seems heavier when I toss my head a little, but it looks real strange. I probably will not do the overnight roller thing anymore.
nice to know that there are lots of us out there who enjoy curling their hair.
i always hate to brush those ringlets out when i take the rollers out. glad to see your wife enjoyed the new do. a little fun now and then makes up for the lost sleep:)

You are not the only one! I too use a curling iron most days and I work in a very macho machine shop. Sometimes I use electric rollers for a stronger curl. I rarely have time for a wet set at home but my hair dresser does it when I go for a trim.
Good for you Scarlet. I too have my hair set just about every Saturday, and the results are great! Just because you have your hair set or are using a curling iron, doesn't mean your hair has to look feminine, unless that's what your looking for. But who cares! Do what ever makes you feel good! Enjoy your hair. If you like the way your hair looks, you feel better, and that's a fact.
Keep on rolling

My hair is naturally wavy, but I use a curling iron to shape it. It is only about 8 inches long, because I made a stragegic mistake (for me) and got a perm to make the curl tighter and had it cut to about 5 inches. It looked great for a while, but in the long run I prefer it long and will not get it cut again.
I have a roller set at least once a week, and wear it loose. If I do not have time to have it set, I pull it back into a bun. It will be easier to manage when it gets longer than 12 inches again.
I also have some friends and two cousins who happily set my hair when they are visiting but they are not always available. The roller set gives me a more formal and groomed look, gets lots of compiments, and I anticipate when I need to make a business or formal social appearance and schedule accordingly.

You can add me to the list of guys who curl their hair regularly. I use hot rollers at home plus the occasional roller set at the hairdresser. In fact I just went to a new hairdresser for the first time and I must say she was the most matter-of-fact about setting a man's hair of any stylist I've encountered. While trimming she asked how I style my hair and I mentioned using hot rollers, she asked how I did it, what size rollers etc. and then offered to set it on velcro rollers after the trim.
It's common to get a few stares while sitting under the dryer in rollers but the stylists usually just appreciate the business, and as others have mentioned, my hair after a set never fails to get compliments.
I think I will always be a closet curler. I don't really have any desire to go to a salon to have my hair set around the ladies. To appear in public in curlers for me would be the ultimate humiliation. I do however respect those that are brave enough to do it. My hair is pretty full for a guy anyway and I still get strange looks from the older folks the way I wear my hair. I often wear my hair to bed i a very high ponytail and it really gives my hair a lot of body the next day. My hair is about 14 inches long and that is where I plan to keep it. Still has a lot of bounce at that lenth. Any longer would pull all the body out of it.
