ok, i'm 17 and i'm letting my hair grow out. i want it to be about shoulder length. at this time my bangs are down in my eyes, the sides are just about to my ears. i have a couple problems though. #1 my bangs do this thing where they kinda flip under or off to the side. what can i do to stop this? #2 my hair is thick. i like the way it looks when it's wet, but when its dry it looks bushy. i don't really want to gel it and have that crunchy hair thing happening so what can i do? also i don't know how i should wear it. i try parting it sometimes, but i'm not sure that looks very good at this point. please give me some suggestions. i would really appreciate it.
thanx

oh by the way, how long do you think it will take to my hair to get long enough to put behind my ears?
Sounds like you need to take a look at this site:

Definitely the best site of its kind, very informative. I'd suggest that you put all the hair you can behind your ears to keep it out of the way and patiently wait for your fringe to grow long enough to do the same - that's what's I'm doing (almost there)! Also, you may want to use some mousse, it's not as heavy as gel but will still help if you want to comb it back a bit.
Whatever you do don't cut anything, I did that a while back but it was a complete waste of time.
