For whatever reason I have always liked long hair. Guys, girls I think long hair looks great on both genders. After seeing how good Brad Pitt looked with long hair in such films as "Legends of the Fall" and "Interview With The Vampire" I decided to let my hair grow out.
I have achieved mixed results. As a guy I know almost nothing about hair care and am to embarressed to ask anyone. My hair has been growing out for quite a while now and I have noticed that when wet it looks alright but once it drys the hair looks unkept and terrible. The ends of my hair tend to curl upward slightly, which looks awful. I found that tying in back in a ponytale looked rather nice but my bangs were not long enough be tied back. So I have taken to using gel to slick the whole thing back. This looked ok, but now the ponytale is starting to curl a little bit. I have read that it curls because of tangles in the hair, is this true? How do I deal with this? Is it just a phase? Should I wait it out? Get a haircut? Any help would be appreciated!
My hair length in front goes down near my mouth. My hair on the sides goes two to three inches beneath my ears. My hair in back is about an inch lower than the neck line on a typical shirt.
Again any help would be great! Thanks a lot!
ASK FOR HELP. Don't give up. Many hair stylist would be willing to help your through this phase. Many of your friends would. Just ask sumpathetic friends for help styling your hair. They will find it fun. You can use a curling iron to turn the ends under; you can use a brush and a blow dryer; I went to an old fashion hair salon twice a week and had my hair set on large rollers for about four months till it was long enough to pull back and tie. Paradoxically, large rollers straighten the hair. Don't give up. Your hair may not look like Brad Pitt's. It may look even better, and remember that he had a stable of hair dressers to work on him between scenes.
