Hi everyone, I just shaved my head about two months ago. I am in desperate need of some help, as I want to grow my hair long again. I'm 17 years old, btw.
I might not be welcome here, as I think I'm looking for something a bit different. I guess I'm not making myself clear, so I'll just post a couple of images. Bear with me, as they're images of soccer players, but nevertheless, I would like to grow my hair, in the same fashion as these guys.

I've noticed that the hairstyle of this player is dramatically different than all the other styles of the pics posted here, but I'm sure that you guys can give advice on how to grow it.
I've tried growing it before, like that, but it never works, and I eventually end up shaving my head.
Which parts of the hair have to be long, and which have to be semi-long, and etc.???
Please help, as this is the only place I can get help without being called a female!
Thanks in advance,

You said you tried before, but it never works. When it doesn't work, what goes wrong?
I'd suggest you let your hair grow until it seems like it might be long enough, then go to a hair stylist, and bring a copy of the picture with you to show the stylist. The stylist should know how to cut it to make it look like that.
The first two pictures don't look like a style you could get with really straight hair. If your hair is very straight, you may need a perm for that style. I'd recommend you find a style you like that works with your natural hair. A hair stylist can help with that too.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, my hair is actually wavy and somewhat curly.
But the problem is, everytime my hair grows out, it gets really thick, and it seems to fro' out in all directions. Looks really bad, as it's really puffed up and seems really thick. Even if I gel it down, it just wouldn't stay down. Maybe it was in a transitional phase, where the hair was in between short and long, but it could also be because of the fact that long hair isn't compatible with my hair texture.
That's sounds good for getting the style in the pictures.
The kind of problem you are describing is common when growing out hair. Your hair may not be compatible with the style in the pictures, but if your hair gets past the intermediate length stage it should be ok. It should at least look good in a ponytail, even if other styles may not work.
