A few years ago my wife encouraged me to grow my hair long. Its quite straight and about mid back length now. My wife has always enjoyed combing my hair however recently she has been dressing it with clips, ties & barrettes. While I agree to this (and actually enjoy it) in the privacy of my own home I am reluctant to venture out in public with such a feminine look. She is also suggesting that I get bangs cut at the front and jokingly says she wants me to come with her to the local hairdressers to try some up-dos and a roller set, however I am not sure its just a joke.
I am getting concerned about my wifes obsession with my hair particularly as she likes dressing me up in feminine styles. Is this ok? I have told her that I feel uncomfortable with her suggestions, she says theres nothing to worry about and I am being silly. Is she right should I swallow my reservations and go to the hairdressers with her? I kinda like the idea but really concerned about the reaction of people in the salon.
Consider yourself extremely lucky! You are indeed fortunate to have a wife who enjoys long hair and is willing to have fun with it. By all means, take her up on her invitation to go to the hairdresser. Try an updo. Pick a time and place where you are not likely to be seen by people you know. Go home with the updo. If you're still uncomfortable about it, take it out. If not, go out and enjoy it.
Gardner, you need to get it together. Check out some MEN'S haircut sites and see what a guy should look like in the 21st century. Go to a barbershop and get a nice short haircut, and if the wife doesn't like it, dump her and get on with your life.: A few years ago my wife encouraged me to grow my hair long. Gardner,
Why the hell are you here? This site is for longhaired men. We like our hair long and we are certainly a great deal more masculine than wimps like you who let "society" tell them what to look like!
you tell him.
If you are really concerned about someone seeing you at the Salon, do it while you are on vacation in another town, but do it. Live a little and experience new things. Long hair is there to try different things. My wife does lots of experimentation with my hair...french braids, sets. I want to experience it all before I am old and bald.
I kinda like the idea but really concerned about the reaction of people in the salon.
GARDNER:
Go for it, but stick to your own convictions about what you want. You say you enjoy it, but perhaps you want to draw the line at some point that you consider a masculine style. I personally would not go for cutting the bangs. Going to be hard to grow out again.
There will probably be no reaction in a salon. Go slow. Don't make any changes before you are ready. A roller set will wash out if you don't like it. A body wave is not radical. Go for the adventure.

You should give it a try. Salons are wonderful. I don't have really long hair. My hair is cut in a bob about an inch below my ears with bangs. I love the style and the bangs as I have a weird forehead. Anyway, I go to a salon and have such fun getting pampered. The stylist messages my scalp and shoulders (WOW!), washes my hair, trims it, and blows it dry. it all feels great. There may be some people in the salon that look at me a little weird but I am not there to impress or please them. I am enjoying myself and my hair. Do it for you.
Enjoy your wife's playfull moments. You are lucky to have
a relationship like this. Try suggesting styles for her to
try. Might turn her on. (french braids, pig tails, high pony
tails, pony tail to 1 side, braided pig tails, etc)
is her hair long?
Yes it's almost waist length
As you have probably realized, this is a lot of long-haired guys' dream. My wife and I both have long hair, and enjoy styling each others'. She bought me a set of hot rollers for Christmas because we were always using hers. I think you should do what you're comfortable with but be willing to indulge your partners' fantasies however odd they seem at first. Go slow, explore, and so on. You'd be surprised how arousing it can be to sit under a dryer in curlers, amid several women.......
I get my hair set regularly in a salon and the reactions are minimal.....

How lucky can a guy get. Does your wife have any unmarried sisters? I would kill to havee a wife that would suggest all you mention. My advice is let her do what she wants. Wear the barrettes, clips, pins, etc. to safe places (restaurants, theatres, solitary areas, etc. Stay away from working class bars, of course. You say you enjoy it. Great. After you get used to the doo-dads you can graduate to French braids, French Rolls, up'do's, curls, ringlets, you name it. This is a great thing to share with your wife. I do my hair up and use a lot of brightwork, all in public. I am an otherwise masculine looking man so maybe I can get away with it. But I wouldn't never short hair again. Too much fun styling it.
Your wife knows w"hair is at!!

YES!!! THEIR IS SOMETHING DEFENETELY WRONG THERE. hOW WOULD SHE FEEL IF YOU TOLD YOUR WIFE TO CUT HER HAIR REALLY SHORT,GROW HER LEG HAIR,PUT ON A FAKE BEARD AND MOUSTACHE? I THINK YOU HAVE A BI-CURIOUS WIFE IN DENIAL. THINK ABOUT THAT. NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING BI SEXUAL THOUGH.
