Carlos,
In case you don't remember, you posted about a straightening shampoo a few weeks back. By any chance have you treid other products as well and had great success? Also, how much was the product and if you bought it online, where? I may be interested in getting something like that, but I may choose chemical straightening instead. My hair is currently pretty short, but I think it I get the short stuff permanently straightened to start it will make the growth process easier. I could just buy straightening shampoos and be confident that the bottom parts (the really messy parts) will always hang properly. I can't stand the flips/waves I get on the ends...
Hey Question Guy
I have not tried any other products besides this straightening shampoo. The product cost 17 dollars here in Canada. It's been working pretty good, but it's not a permanent fix to curls/flips. Since I've only been growing my hair now for 3 months, I don't have any length so once I get some length I'll put another post up and see what the shampoo does then.
After posting that question to you I ran to my local Ames department store and found something pretty amazing! It came in a package that had both shampoo and conditioner for only 5 dollars. And get this: they smelled as good or better than any shampoo I've ever used and they worked wonders! They are called SUPER STRAIGHT and are made by Freeman's. They weren't in the normal shampoo section of the store - they were over closer to the hairsprays and makeup products for women. I was pretty amazed at how well the stuff worked. Like you said about the stuff you bought: it won't make your hair bone-straight, but it will actually LIE DOWN and not be such a mess. My hair is actually shinier and softer, too. I've only been growing mine for about 6 weeks now, but I could tell a diffence.
Oh yeah, and this morning I had my mother (who has VERY curly long hair) try them and hers laid better too. It was still a little curly in the back, but it was noticably straighter than before. I imagine with the use of a leave-in conditioner or something you wouldn't have to resort to chemicals or anything like that.
Good luck tracking this stuff down! I'm gonna go down and buy a few more packages next week.
You paid 5 bucks! Man do I feel ripped off! The salon where I bought it charged me 17, just for the shampoo. I couldn't even afford the conditioner with it! There's no Ames where I live, but there has to be a store that sells it somewhere:)

Yep, and today at Rite Aid I found all kinds of hair stuff, including a bottle of spray that promises to straighten from FREEMAN'S as well. Of course, I bought it. The only problem I've noticed with the shampoo/conditioner is that after about 6 or 7 hours they start to wear off and the flips begin to resurface...I'm still looking for the best way to fight the common curl. So far this shampoo/conditioner combo. has been my best weapon!
