I am a female who stumbled across this site and thought it was interesting. I have a friend who keeps his hair very short with the exception of his bangs; they reach slightly below his chin and he normally wears them tucked behind his ear. They are usually falling over his face. Does anyone think he should cut his bangs, or grow the rest of his hair out to match? Also, is there anyone who has hair of a similar style or has shaggy bangs that you wear over your eyes? I'm just curious as to what others think of purposefully keeping a style in which the hair falls over your eyes constantly.
I think the style you describe is very sexy. It is sort of neat to be able to see your hair, and I think you should encourage him to keep it that way if that is how he likes it. I always wanted it that way myself, but my hair is too fine and frizzy for it to work. I am very jealous of those who have the type of hair that makes this style work.

Just a couple of further thoughts:
Since my hair is not conducive to that type of style, I have a couple of wigs I like to wear that have straight, loose hair that always falls in my face. There is a certain annoyance factor to deal with, so the fact that he chooses to keep his hair this way probably means it is a turn-on for him, just like it is for me. That overrides any annoyance factor. Someone looking from the outside may think "How can he stand that, it seems so annoying", but in fact, he is enjoying the feel, the coziness, and jut being able to look throough his hair. I think you should complement and encourage him on whatever style he chooses, since guys always love to hear the girls notice them. His style is distinctive, and sets him apart from the "buzzed rat" look that is typical today. Guys that like to stand out from the crowd are usually interesting in other ways as well, and I don't think you should think he is weird because of it. Some guys (probably a small percentage I'll admit) just like the feel of hair over their face, the cozy feel, and the certain sparkle it imparts when the sun shines through it. To some of us, it's just cool.
I have been groing my hair out for about 8 months now and my bangs are down to my nose. I love the feel of the hair falling over my eyes and face. When it gets long enough for a pony tail I'll still let the banga hang free most of the time
I love long bangs on guys very much. I self wear my hair often that way - especially in the evening. A few month ago I had a (boy)friend with a very girlish style. His cut is called a bob. As I met him first
his hair was chin length around his head - all with the same length, his bangs has been a litle longer than chin and he usualy wears his
bangs over his face. Mostly I only could see one eye and sometime not even that! His hair was side parted and he styled his hair every morning with big rollers for about 45 minutes to get this special look like this superman girl with but with his hair in his faice.
First I thought he is a little strange but sweet. He was obsessed about hair. But my taste has changed over the weeks. I found his girlish style incredible sexy and very attractive. With the time I couldn't get enough of his hair in his face and I encouraged him
to get a even more exciting hair cut. I told him to grow out his Bangs almost to his breast/shoulder and cut it short in the back,
up earlobe level. As he was unsure to do this I decided to go to a hairdresser stealthily. Until that time I had long hair to the middle of my back. I was very nervous as the hairdresser cuts my long hair to this transversaly bob with this short nape and with very long bangs down to my breast! Now I had nearly the same style like my friend and I had my bangs in my face! I was very excited to see his reaction back at home. He was overjoyed to see my great bob style
with my hair over my face.
I think we was sitting half an hour with pet and feel each others bangs over our faces! We kissed us through this curtain of two colored bangs. He got the same cut only two days later!
Since then I love long bangs very much! I love the look, the movement of a bob and I love it on boys with hair in their faces! Keep him well, they are very seldom! And encurage him to let his hair grow into a bob! Feel the mysterious of hair covered eyes!

just one more question in addition to the couple of others I posted before... when growing out your bangs or just keeping them at a certain length, do you think it's best to part the hair in the middle and have the bangs fall over your eyes just a little on each side, or is it best to part the hair on the side and have it fall just over one eye completely rather than a little over both? Seeing various hairstyles on friends who are experimenting with their hair makes me curious as to what others' opinions are. I'd be interested in hearing your advice or personal preferences.
My hair style is as you've discribed. I wear my bangs long, to my chin, and the sides and back cut short. I like the style and like seeing others with the same. It isn't annoying to me to have my hair fall in my face.
You say having your hair over your face does'nt annoy you Ihave had long hair for years yet tie it back when eating or busy, only having bangs I suppose you can not do that, how do you manage, and is this style a new form of rebellion? I wish I could have the guts to try
I think long bangs w/ side and back cut short is very cool!! I also have a silmilar style!! Don't make your friend cut it!! And also I think center part looks better but side part is pretty sexy too!!
That's cool that you have a hairstyle similar to his. How do you normally wear your hair? Do you slick it back to keep it out of your way, or do you just let it hang freely? My guess would be that it would probably get in your way if it was over your eyes during the day. I'd be interested in hearing what you normally do with it to see how it compares to his preferences. I think the style is great, because it's fairly rare and that makes it interesting.
Well I part it down the middle and put it behind my ear!! It sometimes got in my eyes but it doesn't bother me much!! Care to post ur friend's pix here??

All of his hair except for his past-chin-length bangs is buzzed short.
I take it when he goes to get a haircut he says DO NOT CUT MY BANGS or does he trim his bangs himself?? Would really like to see a pic if you can get one..

Are his bangs all the way long on top?? In other words do they start growing from the top(crown) or is his bangs only long from the forehead down??
His bangs are only long from the forehead down. I think it would be interesting if they came from the entire top, because that would be something different. Are yours from the top?

I have very very long bangs. I like long bangs they come down over my mouth I have always had them long one time I went 18 months without cutting or trimming them at all and they got down to almost the bottom of my neck. The rest of my hair was short in back and on the sides. Everytime I would get my haircut my bangs were not cut or trimmed at all. Does anyone else out there have long bangs with hair styled like mine? Right now they are chin length.. As you can see I like long bangs too.

Yes... this is exactly how I wear my hair. It is short in the back and on the sides with very long bangs. When the bangs hang in my face they touch my mouth... the longest the bangs have been was to my chin. In a very weak moment I decided to cut them, and have regreted it since. I am now growing them back and it seems that when I think they are long enough I decide to not let the stylist cut them, but to let them keep growing. I have the sides and back "cleaned" up regularly but the bangs have been left to grow long.
This is exactly the hairstyle I'm trying to achieve. My hair is very thick so I would prefer a side part and to wear it over one eye rather than in the middle as I probably would not be able to see much!
I was going to go for a one length bob as it isn't so radical but I think this hairstyle would be better accepted in the workplace as I can gel it back or tuck it behind my ears. Currently my bangs are down to my mouth and the rest is over my ears and collar length at the back. Does anyone know if this hairstyle has a name? I want to make sure the hairdresser understands exactly what I want.
There is no name for it that I know of.. When you get your haircut Just tell the stylist DO NOT CUT MY BANGS AT ALL..
