Recently there has been some discussion here about whether
or not society accepts feminine hairstyles on men. I thought
you might be interested in my experience. I've always had long
hair, but never really did much with it--I tried setting it a few times, with *awful* results. About six months ago I met a girl who
was interested in helping me with my hair, and I've gotten into
exploring all kinds of feminine styles. Mostly I enjoy having it set on hot rollers. I love the look and feel of big, bouncy curls down
around my face and shoulders. Yes, it looks *very* feminine, but I
really like it this way. Sometimes I even add a barette. I now set my hair almost every day after work (at work I just keep it straight and pull it back in a ponytail). And, I set it on the weekends as well.
I go out in public quite a bit with my hair done, and I've actually gotten some compliments (all from women). After they get over the initial surprise of seeing curls on a man, some women seem very interested. One girl even asked me how I set it--what kind of rollers I used, etc. So, my experience has generally been good--I love wearing it in curls, and I enjoy the whole experience of setting it, along with the feminine look and feel of it.
Can we start a new rule on the board.......no teasing us with stories like this w/o posting pics with it?
Dave,
I notice you use the phases "teasing" and "share a pic" in almost every one of your posts. Whats up? I would think a collector would have a PIC of itself.
Would someone please enlighten me about what is so shocking about curls on a man? I don't get this.
