I'm wondering if anyone knows of any hair products to add curl or more proferably wave to my long, straight hair. I was patient and grew it layered long. I took longer but it allows me to do more with it and have more body. But I would still love to gain some wave to it and see how I like it. Any suggestions are very appreciated, thanks.

Aw come on..There are whole industries devoted to helping folks with straight hair get some waves.
I'd try a curling iron first, or maybe some hot rollers. Both give more or less "instant results" in your own home, and without long term committment.
Of course there are wet sets, either at home or at a salon. There are perms, from slightly wavy to tight curls.
Try something temporary first, see if you like it.
I agree with David. To try something with very little extra effort, just get some velcro rollers. Afer shampooing, when your hair is almost completely dry, roll it in the rollers, then get the hair hot and dry it using a blow dryer. Let the hair completely cool, then take the rollers out by unrolling them. Do the heating/cooling several times before unrolling if once doesn't do much. Smaller rollers make the hair more curly and larger ones make it more wavy. Really large ones mostly just add body.
there are many ways to curl your hair. a wet set will probably require an hour or so under the dryer or many hours air drying. velcro and other self clinging curlers are hard on long hair, especially when rolled by someone with little experience. they go in real easy- they are really bad about snagging or actually getting snarled in your hair-- areal nightmare. i would recommend hot rollers for a beginner. the results are quicker and depending on yoyur hair likely to last through the day. later you may want to experiment with other curlers etc.
enjoy your hair
