A question for chemists and long hair people experimenting with PH. Here are some foods containing acid and their pH Value
Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice (can vary to 4.0) 2.5
Vinegar 2.8
Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice 3.0
Tomato Juice / Bottled Lemon Juice (contains the preservative sodium benzoate) 4.0 to 4.5
Hair in aqueous solution is about 5
Black Coffee 5.0
Milk 6.8
Water 7.0 (neutral)
So if I understand after the shampoo an acidic rince close the hair cuticles working in an astringent ways. But can I use orange or tomato juice (easier at hand in my house and yummy) rather than the common vinegar or lemon rinse?

Experimenting is fun. I haven't heard of people trying some of those things but you can be a pioneer, S-locks.
