My situation is pretty upsetting to me. I've been growing my hair, but in a tieback undercut style (not ridiculous looking like this one though http://www.geocities.com/RodeoDrive/3696/Photos_tb.html). I've been growing it for a year and a half, and it's just down to my neck. The whole point of this is that i want to grow out my hair normally, and not shave the sides anymore (so it could look neater for when i get a job [i'm in college]), but should i cut the rest of my hair to match the sides, then start all over again, or should i just do nothing and let the rest of it grow out (i'm afraid of how bad the sides would look sticking out when i tie my hair back like i normally do). I don't think i'd have this problem if my hair was past my shoulders, but what do you guys think?

If it were me, I'd just cut it all even and grow it out from there. I've seen people growing out the shaved sides and it does look pretty awkward. Try letting it all grow out in a layered style until the top is below your chin. Then even it up in a blunt-cut. That's what I did and it worked fine. Put your mind on other things for awhile and you'll have long hair in no time.
