Here is a pic of me with striaghtened hair and tied in a mini-bun. I think it looks good and well kept this way. Comments?
I think your it looks better in your avatar, but it's a good change. Just don't do it too often, as it might damage your hair.
Your hair looked good before (from looking at your avatar)and also looks good straight. Having straight hair already I don't know much about the straightening process. Does the hair stay straight now permanently and only the newer parts grow wavy?
How long is your hair now that its straight, hard to tell from the pic? Maybe you could post a pic of it down sometime.
Hi Buddy:
I think your hair looks great either way, and I often wear my hair in a low bun, which I think looks hip yet clean-cut. Being a fellow curly-hair, I understand your desire to have straight hair on occasion. If you're using an iron, be sure it has solid ceramic plates to minimize damage. And -- as you've likely discovered -- if you're careful with humidity, your hair will stay straight for a few days.
Cheers,
Jeremy
Nice as this looks, you of course realize that this style can be done whether your hair is curly or straight due to the fact that your hair's length is not (directly) affected by its curliness, and because the bun requires little hair to be shown in its design, it doesn't matter anyway whether it's been straightened or not. Pulling your hair back will cause it to appear straight anyway. Straightening may add shine to your hair, and of course it lets the loose areas hang more easily, but aside from this I find it a useless straightening. No offense, just my 2 or 3 cents. Keep in mind the potential damage from straightening as well.
Styles, though, are yours to play with and what matters in the end is how you like it best yourself. I think the bun itself looks tidy and well done, though the hanging/tucked hair detracts considerably from the neatness factor. Still looks good, though.
