hi all,
need a lil advice from you:
i have found a few hairs that seems to be broken (they simply have a bend) ... should i cut these hairs too ?
i can imagine that the spot with the bend may cause the hair to split if not cut off ...
(today in the morning while combing i found a hair where the bend is about 4 cm over the end) ...
is it right that thin hair tends to break more easily than thick hair ? (have read that on another web site)
@80's metal - your tips/experiences are really good - it encouraged me to maybe do the "search & destroy" method by myself ...
have u done this 'trim' with a special scissors ?
where can u buy them ? maybe in a hair salon ?
well - thx for your help,
ALH
No, i don't think you need to cut anything. It seems like i am a trend setter. I get my splitz cut and it seems as if everyone suddenly is posting about "do i have split ends?" type of messages and trimming their own hair. Maybe it is just me but i think everyone is getting advice and knowledge from my own experiences, which is a good thing!
No, just regular stainless steel scissors. do the job.
dont know.
well i think alot people here thought about doing it by themselves but i think alot of them (includes me) dont have the right "knowledge" (e.g. some time before i was unsure how a split end looks and if i can see it only under the microscope or not)or a lil bit fear of cutting the wrong hairs (the healthy ones) when having a slow grow rate ...
ur "report" was so accurate/detailed, interesting and positive and that was it, that inspired me to maybe do it myself ...
i am one of the "slow one's" and that's why i want to be ABSOLUTELY sure what i do with my hair (especially when cutting = losing length) ...
thx again for your help and your report,
ALH
I realize this wasnt directed towards me at all, but I have read a few things and spoken to a handful of girls who cut their own hair. They all said that Using hair cutting sheers not only make the process go more smoothly (because thats what they are made for) but also that their hair grew back with less damage after switching to salon sheers.
I have seen pairs of hair scissors in the personal care sections of places like walmart.
Hope this helps.
