sorry for the poor quality guys. i dont have a scanner. so i had to take a pic of a pic. i also couldnt use the flash without a huge glare. but anyways, this is how my hair looked just about a week before i cut it. i look back at this and wonder what the hell i was thinking. but oh well, in about 8 more months time i will be back to this length. and as you can see, as my hair gets longer the wave really settles down significantly. i just cant wait to get back to this point and way beyond.=)
That looks pretty good! Hope you get back to that length as soon as possible! Why did you cut your hair... damaged or split ends? How long do you want to have your hair now? (Maybe you've already answered this, but I've missed it if you have).
there was no damage or splits. i cut my hair for a really dumb reason. i thought that long hair was just a phase and that i would enjoy the simplicity and ease of short hair more. I was also at a bad stage where it wasnt quite long enough for a ponytail. immediately after the cut i was devestated. i realized that i made a mistake and that i would never feel completely like myself with short hair. but most importantly i learned from my mistake. i realized that it was more than just hair to me. it was an extension of my personality....an extension of my soul...it was an extension of me. but gladly i have learned from that mistake. and i am now committed to long hair until death..or at least until it all falls out.lol
and i am going way longer this time. at least midback.
Wow, pretty profound reason there! Thanks for sharing. It sounds kind of like me, only I was never able to get my hair much past collar length, but still felt bad everytime I cut it (mostly to please others - although the simplicity of short hair was kind of convenient too). And of course, each time I did, I was one step further away from long hair.
Like you, I've discovered that I would never feel like myself with short hair. Your hair will look really good at mid-back length (looked great in the older photo you just showed us too). At least you are quite certain now that you don't want short hair! All the best, keep growing!

That's exactly my story 100%!, my hair even was around the same length. I'm also growing my hair long again now.
Nice pic! I can relate to the 'devastating feeling' after get your hair cut short. I did that back in March of '04 and decided 'Never again!' The longer my hair gets, the more it's a part of my eclectic personality. All my friends [even my friend who kept asking me when I was going to get a haircut. I kept telling her never!] are used to it.

That's a brilliant pic, blurry or not. You can still see how much longer hair suits you. It was a shame to cut it, yeah, but that's in the past. One day, when you have hair trailing down your back, you'll laugh at these old pics.
And there aren't any dumb reasons, just mistakes. We all make them, or else we wouldn't be too human. The important thing is that we learn from them.

You looked great in that photo and you'll look even better in the future. I guess the good thing about cutting and realizing how it felt afterwards then you will never ever wonder about whether long hair is right for you again. Definitely a settled issue.
Exactly. thats what i try to tell myself. at least some positive came out of it. at least now i know for sure what i want. =)
Remind me why you cut it again? Was it required for school?

Personally, I think you should grow longer for at least a year after you again reach the length in this pic. Just my 2c.

i dont plan on getting a trim until after the two year mark sometime. as good as im taking care of my hair this time i think i can probably accomplish this. =)

Wow, you look so much older now than in that picture. That is a good length and I'm sure you'll be very pleased when you soon reach it. Even a little longer would be good too.
