I was wondering if anyone in here has a problem with your cars shoulder belt pinching your hair between the belt and your shoulder? Or if you play guitar or Bass if you have a problem with your hair getting caught between the strap and your shoulder? Anyone know any good solutions to this problem? For my seatbelt I already tried one of those lambskin wool pads but it just wasn't comfortable, it would not flex enough and I hate to sound like a wimp but the weight of it was annoying so I got my money back for it. Anyone have any other idea's? I know someone may say just don't wear your seatbelt but there is a law against that in my state and it just isn't safe. Thanks in advance for replies

I HAVE THE BELIEF THAT HAVING OUR HAIR TIED UP LIKE THAT IS BAD FOR IT BECAUSE SOMETIMES THE WHOLE WEIGHT OF THE HAIR COULD BE ON ONLY A COUPLE OF HAIRS AT A TIME, SO I ONLY TIE MY HAIR BACK WHEN I HAVE TO, JUST AT THE LAST MINUTE BEFORE WORK AND AS SOON AS I AM OFF THE CLOCK I UNTIE IT, I THINK BEFORE I WOULD HAVE A PONYTAIL, FOR MY CAR I WOULD ONLY WEAR THE LAP BELT OR CUT MY HAIR THERE IF IT WAS THAT MUCH OF A PROBLEM. ALSO HAVING MY HAIR IN A PONYTAIL LIKE THAT WHILE PLAYING GUITAR WOULD KIND OF DEFEAT THE PURPOSE FOR ME OF HAVING LONG HAIR, HEADBANGING WITH IT. SO I DON'T THINK I WOULD WANT TO HAVE A PONYTAIL FOR THAT EITHER, BUT THANKS FOR THE REPLY.

  TYING yuour hair loose is not going to stress any of the hairs if you are careful putting on the ties. I have hornrim barrets, 4 to a package, mfg by Goody. I pull my hair back and give it a twist and fold the twist up and put one of the clasps on it. The I adjust the tail so that it falls down over the clasp. No problems with seatbelts, and a guitar has never provoked a confrontation with me.

  I spend a great deal of time running through airports with luggage and my hair used to get stuck under the laptop carrier's strap. So I learned to carry a ribbon in my pocket and tied it up quickly in cases like that.
