Hey fellow longhairs,
I am hoping someone can give me some advise. I've always had short hair and this past year, I've decided to let it grow out. My goal is to get it at least shoulder length. Right now, it's just about half way in the middle of my neck and I LOVE it. The problem that I am having and I am hoping someone can offer some wisdom, is now that my hair is getting longer, it's full of static. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and on the days I wash it, thats the worst for static. I dont use a hair dryer, nor do I use any kind of product in my hair. The day or two after I wash it, the static isn't that bad, but this is driving me crazy. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue? I'd greatly appreicate ideas from anyone.
Thanks A LOT!!!!
Be sure and use plenty of Conditioner when washing. Most likely the static is worse on the days you wash because the natural oils from the scalp have not had time enough to coat the ends of your hair.
Perhaps try using just a "little bit" of gel and that may solve a whole lot of the problem you are having.
Good luck
I had the same problem before i started using conditioner, so my advise: Use conditioner :)
Thanks for the idea guys!! I got some Pantene Pro V smooth and sleek conditioner and it works GREAT!!! After the first try, the static is completely gone. My hair is looking GREAT. My hair is real straight, so when it grows a couple more inches, I'll take some pics and post updates to you all can see the progess if anyones interested. Thanks again guys!!
I've heard that people having a problem with static sometimes use those drier sheets that help get rid of static on clothes in the drier. they just rub them through their hair, and not only does it get rid of the static, but it leaves the hair smelling like the beach, or a meadow, or something like that :-) hope that helps!
Hey, that's a great idea...I'll have to try it.
