I have just discovered a new Garnier product, at least new in my area. It is a line called "Sleek and Shine". The shampoo and conditioner is excellent, especially for hair like mine, which tends toward very curly and gets dry easily. It is also 3/4 of the way down my back. (I decided on bangs, even though I know they are not popular here, I just think I look better with them). The Leave-In in this line is fantastic, it leaves my hair feeling smooth, wavy rather than super curly, and shiny. Just wanted to pass it along. I have just found this site recently, and really like it, and appreciate it.
Your hair looks really cool.
Thanks, I really appreciate it.
Awesome hair, man!
I'm still trying different shampoos/conditioners so I'll have to look out for that.
thanks for the compliment, the support here is great. the system is 3 parts, shampoo, conditioner, and leave in. Good luck with it, Wish I had your fantastic straight hair!!
Dude , you have some awesome waves and loose curls. I really like your fringe aswell, i might get one in the future but i am still undecided over mixed approvals by others and my own doubts. It is very rare to find guys with fringe cuts on the board, but i guess it isn't 1986 lol. I really, really like your hair. Drop by more often around here. Where abouts do you live, in what country?
Glad you found a good leave-in.
Thanks for the kind words. I live in florida. And, you are right it's not 1986, but for some reason it suits me, and also, I like to wear my hair loose most of the time, and this way it stays out of my face. Otherwise, with my "big hair", it was always in my face.
As I said before fringes look great and suit some people. At the end of the day it's your decision as to what you don't go by the approval of others. You being it for yourself.

John B, Thanks for the style support. The pic I posted was with my hair slightly damp. When dry it has lots more volume, and looks like yours except curlier. Yours looks fantastic to me. We who have this kind of hair know it can be difficult to make it look tamed. You do a great job. sj
Yes! I too think the fringe look is rather quite outstanding..........sometimes even better!

Just an example showing how great a fringe can look. Some like, some don't. For what it's worth.
but i have seen way better examples of fringes. I don't like how it sticks up at the top, kinda looks like a mullet. I will post some up if i feel like it.
Well each to their own personal opinion but I don'r think it looks like a mullet at all. Okay it's typical of the style of the time when alot people have their hair feathered and looks fine to me.

To me, it actually defies the "usual" look of a Mullet completely. I find it to be an extremely great style! Well maintained and standing out from the "typical" of everyone else. Here is another photo of the same style.

Wonderful hair! (That may be me in 6 months maybe, as I'm planning on a fringe cut. Hopefully it looks as good as yours-'fingers crossed').
As to the 1986 thing...well at least in Australia, if you combine the mullet hair trends with the aviator sunglasses and striped collared clothes (such as Sergio Tachini -sp?, the focus on 80's legends in the sporting world like David Boone (!)) then add them to the worldwide (American mainly?) trends of retro (i.e. 80's) comics, such as transformers, He-Man, Thundercats etc, as well as heavily influenced by the 80's bands such as Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, The Strokes, Interpol etc etc + all the 80's TV shows (e.g. MacGyver!!!) coming out on DVD as well as all the 80's programs on the music channels especially...
well lets just say that while 1986 was 20 years ago in chronological time, it is still very much a part of today!!
Keep on rockin' that hair mate!
Damn!! you made me feel great about the fringe!! Thanks!! But, your sleek, smooth hair looks so great to me. I guess we want what we don't have. Thanks for helping me appreciate what I do have!

I know this as much as anyone can! When my hair was cut short (due to intense family pressure-see the top two pics) I wished for over a year that I could have long hair again-the 'awkward stage' was so frustrating the second time!
However next month it will be two years without a cut! However my hair is coming out curly/more wavy this time-I have no idea why.
Even though the length is getting there, I wish my hair would fall/lie like yours does :-)
Congratulations on 2 years of growth next month Dean!
Some funny photos of you , you crack me up.
Did you see my reply about that dude with waist length hair i saw, i think that was him, LOL.
Those top 2 pics are a bit scary. Same clothes, same facial expression, same room/location, similar point in time, one with mid-back ponytail and one with short hair. Hair today gone tommorow!
Hi Sj,
Thanks for posting the picture and you hair looks really great and in good condition. It's nice to see natural and curly longhair and the fringe also suits you well.
I've used Garnier products and I can say they work for me as well and I do rotate them around with other products. We have to find what works best with our different hair types.
I hope the advice here is helpful and nice of you to drop by the board.
On an off topic nothing wrong that 1986 era as I remember that well and good music and all.

I've been using the shampoo and "rinse-out" conditioner in this line for about a month now, but just found a bottle of the "leave-in" conditioner yesterday. They've been working pretty well for me so far, we'll see how the rest goes.
I've also got fairly thick hair, and have toyed around with the idea of a fringe to keep it out of my eyes more when it's down. However, I have to wear it tied back or braided when I'm at work, and not sure how the bangs would look when it's tied back.
