Hey everyone,
I've been growing out my hair for 1year and 8months with only one trim. Ever since I started growing it out i notice the front keeps getting thinner and thinner. I have a healthy diet and dont put anything in it that would promote hair loss.
Any suggestions?
I know the feeling...
The front does not seem to really grow anymore, and I am thin on th e back top. I have been using Rogain and my Mom and Sisters think some grew back. I don't really worry about it these days. No since stressing over something genetics has control over. However, I am not cutting it! :-)

yeah, genetics is a bitch. If it keeps goin this way loks likes plugs or sugery for me!
I would not stress over your hair looks great and a great colour and alot of body to. The beard goes weel with the look as well. It does look that thinning to me and be very proud of what you have grown so far. Keep it growing.

Thanks dude, makes me feel a whole lot better.
I know you said you don't do anything to promote hair loss, but perhaps combing too hard too often, or when wet? Tight ponytails? Scrubbing too hard during shampoos? Scratching your scalp at the front? It depends on one's view of what promotes hair loss.
If this pic is any indication, though, the thinning is itself thin - nobody's going to notice anything. I know I wouldn't have if you hadn't addressed it. Your hair and beard suit your face perfectly. It's actually a bit astonishing; lots of people have hair that "kind of" suits them, but you pull off the look perfectly, in my opinion. Coolness.
If you don't do any of the things I suggested, then just leave your hair a couple months and see what happens. But I seriously doubt it'll be baldness at the front.
Thanks for the info. Now that i think of it i had really dry scalp
last winter and form a series of scabs in the front, perhaps that may be the cause. Plus i just read that you should never comb when you're hair is wet. I've been combing while conditioning or when i have masque in, im gonna stop that.
Well anyways thanks for suggestions and complements:)
NO, i think you are just being paranoid. You have a great hair/beard combo and it is looking good. I canno't see any hair loss at the front at all. Relax.
Thanks, I do think i did freak out a little over it.
Keep it METAL!
Hi there,
It is natural for the shape of the hairline to change gradually over time without reducing in size (area), though it may look like it is "receding".
I think your hair, the beard, the whole package looks superb!!
Welcome aboard,
Oren
Thanks dude
Suggestions Stop worring man your hair looks cool does appear to look thin to me man

Hi,
everybody said already that your hair looks perfect - thin or not. Right now, there's NO indication of MPB. You look great, and you have every right to enjoy what you have.
You don't smoke at all, I suppose? Smoking would be bad for the blood supply of your scalp.
But assuming it comes to the MPD (i.e. maximum possible disaster, i.e. some real hair loss ;-) - why not pull off the bald_on_top / long_all_the_way_around look? Some members of this board do just that, and it looks REALLY cool and awesome, especially with a beard like yours. In any case, NEVER give up, NEVER cut!
Are there any male members of your mother's family with MPB? That would give you some indication about the risk of developing MPB.
Hope that helps - and here's a picture of a famous guy who had MPB and who still grew his hair somewhat...
Best wishes,
Hans-Uwe
My dads side does have balding history and yes i do smoke. Now that i know it affects you're hair, im definetly quiting.
Hi,
I think it's a great decision to stop smoking, and it's a good reflection of your self respect. Perhaps you find the book "Allen Carr's easy way to stop smoking" by Allen Carr helpful. The book is written in a somewhat propagandistic style, but it's extremely effective and helpful; several friends of mine have been able to stop after they have read it.
Good luck, and happy growth!
